About our Company

Portcullis Bailiffs UK Ltd is a recently formed company, but brings together skills learnt by our qualified staff over many years in the industry. We are an accredited company operating within the framework of the law, and while acting on behalf of our clients we operate a cordial and friendly approach to our clients' debtors.

A principal area of our work is recovering Commercial Rent Arrears on behalf of Landlords, Managing Agents, Property Companies and Solicitors by means of levying distress.

As an adjunct to our Commercial Rent work we also undertake Forfeiture of Commercial Property Leases by means of peaceable re-entry, usually for non-payment of rent, but also for other breaches of covenant where a Section 146 Notice under the Law of Property Act 1925 has been served.

Our Bailiffs are polite yet firm when dealing with your clients. The tenant must be made to realise the gravity of the situation and the possible consequences. Providing a clear understanding of the landlords rights and the need to pay rent on the due date may well prevent a repeat in the future and secure further payments as required on time.

We are able to offer Asian language speaking Bailiffs in those cases where tenants are from the Indian subcontinent and frequently find it difficult in understanding the distress procedure. We make sure to avoid any misunderstanding about what the law requires.

How It Works

There must be an existing tenancy agreement or a previous one in place that has expired and the rent must be one day overdue or more.

Our services are FREE for the landlord. The tenant will be required to pay our fees for the actions taken, and a fair and representative charge will be levied.

Linguistic Services

We believe our Asian linguistic services will provide a very useful service in the collection of business rates for local councils and government authorities in dealing with cases relating to immigrants from Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
